Australia Solomon Islands Partnership for Justice (ASIPJ)
Location: Honiara, Solomon Islands
Reports to: Country Program Manager
Term: Fixed, commencing 1 Jan 2026 - 31 December 2029
Background
The Australia Solomon Islands Partnership for Justice (ASIPJ) continues Australia’s long-running support to the Solomon Islands justice sector. Its goal is to work closely with the Solomon Islands Government (SIG) to enable justice agencies to maintain delivery of their existing core activities while clearly identifying and engaging with fundamental problems and critical issues affecting their ability to contribute to stability and offer access to justice for citizens.
ASIPJ aspires to be locally led, problem-oriented and learning driven. It is pragmatic, practical, and adaptable, mainstreaming gender equality, disability and social inclusion. Deloitte is the Managing Contractor, working with Adam Smith International (ASI) who provides the program operational support.
Role dimensions
Overview
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Country Program Manager, the Office Assistant will provide administrative support including cleaning and janitorial services within the ASIPJ program office. As part of the Operations Hub including the Finance Manager, Finance Officer and Operations and Procurement Officer and will be managed by the Country Program Manager.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Office Assistant include but not limited to:
Responsible for floor care, including sweeping, mopping and spot cleaning of surfaces
Responsible for emptying rubbish bins in office areas
Monitor stock levels of office stationaries, cleaning supplies and equipment
Assist ASIPJ Operations Hub and the program team with filing, printing, photocopying, scanning of documents and receipts.
Providing support to the Operations and Procurement in sourcing quotations for office stationaries, cleaning equipment and supplies.
Manning the reception desk and provide front desk services.
Ensure conference room is maintained and ready for meetings.
Assist the Operations and Procurement Officer in organising catering services for program events.
Ensure office kitchen is always kept clean
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms
Replenish hand soaps, toilet papers and paper towels in the office restrooms regularly
Responsible for dusting, disinfecting, and polishing of surfaces and furniture as required
Act as a trusted representative of the program, displaying professionalism and discretion in all interactions with the ASIPJ team, counterparts and the wider public
Any other duties as identified by ASIPJ Country Program Manager.
Job requirements
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Completion of secondary education to form 5 level with at least two to three years of experience in a similar role
Experience working with different cleaning chemicals and equipment
Basic knowledge of WHS
Demonstrated commitment to gender equality, youth empowerment, disability inclusion, human rights and the principles of Do No Harm
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Reporting Requirements
Report to the ASIPJ Country Program Manager and directly work with Finance Manager, Finance Officer, and Operations and Procurement Officer.
Eligibility
The position is open to Solomon Islanders and those with the existing right to live and work in Solomon Islands.
