ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Manager - Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for managing and ensuring accurate financial records across the group accounts, with particular focus on UK, EU, Africa and USA income statement reporting and analysis. The role will include line management responsibly over a globally located finance team and will be a leading voice in the strategic development of the function. Stakeholder management, business partnering with senior executives and Board preparation packs each month.

Deadlines and communication will be a critical focus on this role, ensuring project accounting records, and overhead management are understood, planned, and managed. The role should also be prepared to lead on adhoc internal projects to drive forward performance and be prepared to travel to international offices as required.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

·       Responsible for monthly Management Report narrative:

·       WIP / item sold less than cost / margin analysis / performance reporting

·       Fixed price calculation and adjustments (cost to complete model)

·       Accountable for project related balance sheet reconciliations:

·       Accrued income, Deferred income, WIP, Project accruals, time posting

·       Responsible for Income Statement variance analysis:

·       Project variance to budget analysis and reporting

·       Oversight and bridging of project accounting function (external reporting) with management accounting team (internal reporting).

·       Responsible for Group Budgets and Business Forecasting for programmes

·       System process development and documentation

·       Internal KPI management

·       Setting internal financial deadlines and responsibilities

·       Management and communication of KPI performance

·       Staff administration oversight (timesheets, credit card returns)

·       Lead regular system training and accounting support meetings with local staff

Job requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

·       Certified in Accounting and Finance/ ACCA/ CIMA 

·       At least 10 years post articles (internship) practical and relevant experience covering key areas such as trial balance review, KPI review and analysis, intercompany review.

·       Managed and senior level involvement in corporate audit (Preferably from big 4 audit firm)

·       Prepared financial statements based on FRS and IFRS frameworks

·       Experience in mergers and consolidation accounting.

·       Experience in (FP&A) budgeting and analysis role.

·       Good understanding of international corporate and indirect taxes (VAT, WHT etc.)

·       Advanced Excel skills are required
